No, not even close xD
But I remember when my friend asked me: "What's the purpose of your website? Nobody's taking a look at your website anyway". Most people would actually question their own work when hearing this, but this sentence taught me an important lesson: I'm so glad to have a website.
It's no secret that I'm different from the norm. Not because I want to look cool and edgy, but rather because it's just a fact, at least from what I can tell in my surroundings as most here are pretty tech-illiterate, and that gives them no idea what advantages there are with having a website.
It has given me the opportunity to talk about the things I like for example. I have no other place to talk about my interests other than my website. I don't have any friends to talk about the things I like, I hardly find anybody online with similar interests, and even in such small communities I'm the odd one. What I've really liked about writing blog posts is I'm in control of saying what I'm really thinking about.
Another point is that with a website, you almost get full freedom with a website. Instead of relying on some stupid social media websites with hijacking and often times vague rules, you can almost post whatever you want. Also, psychologically or even intentionally, I'm not limited to a certain amount of characters. On platforms like Twitter, you are restrained with what you can say. You either create a massive thread as there's a character limit, which most people don't care about, or you try to be as limited as possible in your wording. Even with both cases, it'll be forgotten in a short period of time as social medias only show you the most recent content in your timeline. Every blog post here is clearly arranged, and will not vanish as quickly.
Last, but not least, it may improve my English skills. English is my third language, and while it's not the worst, I don't feel complacent enough with my use of English. When I write a blog post,I don't just upload it, but also either add new content or fix the mistakes. Scarcely had I wanted to upload a blog post when I took a look at the content again and noticed some spelling or grammar mistakes. Also, on no other occasion do I look up for alternative vocabulary than writing on my blog because I want to be more creative in my sentence structure.
While there's little to no activity here at the moment, I still wouldn't give up on this website any time soon. The reason why no content has come out is because I've been doing other things in real life, which gave me less time to work on my blog, however, that'll surely change in the future. I'll talk about it further when new year's eve is around the corner.
